The THAY Medical team grows further
We are rapidly approaching the holiday season and with everything going on we have not yet had the chance to announce the arrivals of our two amazing new team members, Jake Whelan – Junior Human Factors Engineer, and Greta Nizinskaite – Junior Human Factors Recruiter. Jake and Greta are joining the Human Factors Team under the leadership of our Lead Human Factors Engineer, Vaidotas Nenorta, and will both be focusing on performing Human Factors research and studies in Europe and around the world. Expanding the capabilities of Human Factors within THAY Medical and adding their previous knowledge, experiences and expertise to all that THAY Medical has to offer.
“My name is Jake Whelan and I have an undergraduate degree in Psychology, with a sandwich year at Adobe, and MSc in Cyber Security, Cyber Psychology and Human factors engineering from Bournemouth University. My Masters was focused on the application, acceptance and usability of an AI programmed with human emotions. I have a strong passion for everything technology and psychology, and I am excited to be part of a new role where I get to explore this further.
Already having some user experience and human factors experience, to be part of the medical device world excites me. The medical device world is filled with opportunity to improve user capabilities and existing technologies through human factors engineering. This is something I wish to impact greatly within my career.
In my spare time I love to surf down at Bournemouth beach with my friends from university. I also plan on getting some more travelling done and under my belt within the coming year.”
Having studied at Kaunas University in Lithuania, Greta got her master’s degree in biomechanical engineering. After her studies she worked in various personnel management roles and is now ready to take on the challenge of Human Factors.
“When the opportunity to work at THAY Medical came up, I decided to try and change my career. I enjoy implementation of new systems, problem solving and have good attention to detail. I'm looking forward to working with highly experienced and friendly people while also enhancing my knowledge in the Human Factors field.”
Welcome to the team Jake and Greta!
