Our Remote Test Room

First and foremost, we wish health and happiness through this unprecedented time as the COVID-19 pandemic has had an effect on all our personal and professional lives.THAY Medial have been planning and taking the necessary precautions to ensure that testing continues but with the teams' and participants' safety taking priority. To ensure everyone's safety, we have converted space in our UK office that is dedicated to remote, cloud-based usability and human factors testing. The test participants are able to participate from their own homes with a real-time feed to us in the office so that we can interact as if we were next to them.We have a designated test room for this testing, This room has been designed to enhance the sound quality and increase our internet bandwidth. For cloud-based testing, the key thing we wanted was that test participants could connect to us easily without any hassle, which cloud-based software definitely provides. Furthermore, it also allows us to record all test sessions with a click of a button that uploads it straight to the cloud and onto internal servers which is ideal. We also decided to choose cloud-based software since they are encrypted and all virtual meetings and video conferences happen over a secure connection - this provides security and confidentiality for our test participants and their data.Alongside our test room we have completed our Decontamination Room which is used for the packaging of test equipment for the test participants to use in their individual test sessions.  It is where all the test equipment that comes back from the test participants gets decontaminated before being re-packaged or stored. As we do not know how long the lock-down, and social distancing will last, we are lucky enough to be able to have the space and the resources to make remote testing available for our clients.As a company, remote working is something that is not new to us, and so we are used to communicating over the internet - however, we are not used to spending our time in isolation. But if anything, isolation has brought us together and we have tried our best as a team to make life a little bit brighter.
